Tax Manager

As a Tax Manager, you will prepare and review individual and business tax returns, develop relationships as a trusted advisor with clients, ensure compliance with state and federal tax law and monitor current and impending tax changes. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Proficiently prepare and review individual and business tax returns.
  • Manage tax projects for multiple client engagements in a broad variety of industries
  • Provide tax planning, consulting, and compliance for individual and business clients
  • Advise clients on tax strategies, profitability and/or succession planning
  • Ability to research complex tax issues
  • Manage and mentor staff accountants on tax and related projects
  • Review work prepared by staff team members and provide review comments and training

 

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business or equivalent experience
  • CPA license preferred, but not required
  • 5+ years of experience in Tax preparation and review of individual/business tax returns
  • Experience with trust returns and agriculture background a plus
  • Demonstrate competency in technical skills, work quality, and application of professional and Firm standards.
  • Build client relationship and maintains smooth working relationships
  • Highly motivated individual with ability to multitask and complete assignments within budget and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently but also collaborate, as a team, with owners and staff
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients adhering to strict confidentiality
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Professionalism, reliability and integrity
  • Proficient in Windows-based computers and Microsoft Office programs
  • Experience using QuickBooks a plus
  • Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism
  • Desire for a long-term career to grow with us in our Manhattan, Kansas office
