On November 22 a federal judge in Texas issued a preliminary injunction on the Department of Labor’s overtime rule that was set to take effect on December 1, 2016. The injunction pauses the implementation and any enforcement of the new overtime rule, meaning the salary threshold originally set in the ruling ($913 weekly / $47,476 annually) and the change to the annual compensation requirement for highly compensated employees will not go into effect on December 1.
