Governor Sam Brownback has signed House Bill 2576 which affects employer tax rates for the first quarter. It is retroactive and will be in effect for all of 2014. The KS Department of Labor has sent out letters indicating your newly updated Kansas Unemployment Tax rate for 2014. The Experience Notices with the 2014 rate you received in the Fall (and hopefully provided to Varney & Associates) may not have the correct rate. If you have received a letter with an updated SUTA rate, please forward it to Varney & Associates along with your payroll information.
To update or correct the rate in QuickBooks, please see our instructions here.
